With the NFL Draft settled Saturday afternoon, teams are scouring their draft boards, player evaluations trying to find some undrafted gems to add to their roster. The Kansas City Chiefs are well on their way to adding some high quality players to their football team. We look at the ten best.

1. G Justin Cheadle (Cal) - It’s clear the Chiefs aren’t finished adding depth to their offensive line. Justin Cheadle is a solid athlete with decent footwork. At 310 pounds the 6’3” guard, does not some seasoning. He was ranked by some scouting services as the 40th best guard in college a year ago.

2. SS Terrance Parks (Florida State) - Known as a hard hitter he started 23 games the last two years for Florida State. Parks has 99 career tackles for the Seminoles. He’s not an interception machine, grabbing only one in college, but he played on what of the nations best defenses a year ago.

3. FS Tysyn Hartman (Kansas State) - He’s no stranger to football fans in the Midwest. The former Kansas State Wildcat is a solid Strong Safety and could provide depth to the Chiefs - if he can make the final roster. LIke Parks he’s a tackling machine. He has decent coverage skills and good instincts in the secondary.

4. WR Brandon Kinnie (Nebraska) - Even after snagging a pair of wide receivers in the NFL Draft, the Chiefs worked very quickly to sign Saturday night. The former Husker stands 6’3”, he has 4.4 speed and knows how to get open. Nebraska wasn’t known for its passing game and his numbers dropped from 44 catches and five touchdowns in 2010 to 22 catches and a single touchdown in 2011.

5. WR Josh Bellamy (Louisville) - Another receiver with some size and decent speed who also has return skills. Over the last two years he caught 53 passes and hit the end zone seven times. He’s not going to challenge for a starting job but he along with Kinnie does give the Chiefs a pair of good candidates as the teams 5th receiver heading into 2012.

6. RB Nate Eachus (Colgate) - Short, stocky but productive running back who led Colgate in rushing the past two years. He was limited to six games in 2011 but still gained 763 yards and scored six touchdowns. Not sure if the Chiefs are going to carry four running backs especially after drafting Cyrus Gray.

7. DE Ethan Johnson (Notre Dame) - He’s had a hard luck career at Notre Dame from injuries, personal family issues and a change in defensive philosophies put him off most NFL draft boards. But props to the Chiefs for quickly getting him signed. All he wants is a chance and luckily the Chiefs need defensive ends. Sounds like a perfect marriage to me.

8. S Jean Fanor (Bethune-Cookman) - The Chiefs are going to be young at safety heading into the 2012 season. This is the third UDFA Safety signed by Kansas City. They also drafted Alabama standout DeQuan Menzie so I’m not sure if Fanor fits long term. He’s a solid defender, hard hitter but the jump from small college to the NFL might be too far a jump for him.

9. TE Tim Biere (Kansas) - Even with a pair of competent TIght Ends in Kevin Boss and Tony Moeaki on the roster the Chiefs still need a third this season. Biere wasn’t expected to be drafted but the Jayhawks tight end has some talent. Not starting talent. But he can block, catch the ball over the middle and had some good moments at Kansas.

10. LB Dexter Heyman (Louisville) - If there is one player on this list that can make this football team, it’s the Cardinal’s Inside Linebacker. He can tackle, has coverage skills. flies to the ball and can sack the quarterback. Heyman was a beast on defense and it’s a shocker he wasn’t drafted at all.

Other Chiefs UDFA Signings
FB Taylor Gentry (NC State)
OL Cam Holland (North Carolina)
DB Chandler Fenner (Holy Cross)
K Matt Szymanski (Texas A&M)
DB Neiko Thorpe (Auburn)
