Where Do the Chiefs Go From Here?

It looked like they had a few flaws in week one versus the Falcons, but then the Chiefs met a buzz-saw when they took on the Buffalo Bills in a week two clash in Orchard Park, NY.
It’s hard to put a finger on all the issues surrounding this Chiefs team but what can be denied is the fact, they’ve been manhandled in the first two games by a combined total of 75-41.
On Sunday, the Bills smothered the Chiefs in all phases of the game and left KC with a really bad taste in their mouth as they drubbed us in a final of 35-17. It’s easy to sit here and pick apart the performance of Kansas City against the Bills because the Chiefs could possibly be in trouble as a franchise and as a representative of our great community.
This is supposed to be our year to blaze a new path of glory and reckoning and to bring back championship football to the starved masses of Kansas City and the surrounding suburbs.
Romeo Crennel
is a worthy coach and Scott Pioli is a good General Manager but I think at the moment - their philosophies need a serious gut check. This team could still come back from the nether regions of NFL football and have hope for their future in the fountain city we all love and cherish.
I know it’s only their second game of the year and I know that they’re still 14 more of them to play. And I know they still have a chance to come out on the winning end of the stick, but what I don’t know is if they are legitimately capable of coming back from these two losses and making a season of it going on down the line.
Either way they better get themselves together in a hurry because this Sunday we come up against
Drew Brees
and the winless,
New Orleans Saints
. And that football team is mad as hell and they don’t care who knows it.
Thus the Chiefs have a formidable foe next week in the Superdome when they have also lost both games this season. The Chiefs need to take a step back and be objective as they practice this coming week. Something is wrong and Romeo needs to step up and show us what they are made of and it needs to start against the Saints. There is no more time to lose.
The talent that this team has is massive.
Dwayne Bowe
is a receiver extraordinary making tough catches whenever the ball is thrown his direction.
Matt Cassel
has all the skills of a number one field general,
Jamaal Charles
is by all accounts one of the top echelon runners in the league and guys like Moeaki, McCluster, Baldwin and the rest of the crew seem to be above average in all their accomplishments so, where exactly are the Chiefs supposed to go from here?
Well, I guess the only way to go is up because I can tell you from the viewpoint of a die- hard Chiefs fan it’s much easier to talk good about the Chiefs then bad about them. But, after the first two games, the only way back from the hole they’ve created is to make me and all the others shut our mouths about the negatives and come back in fiery triumph in the rest of our matches in 2012. I know they can do it.
I pledge right now that no matter what the rest of the year may hold for our boys in red and gold, I’ll keep writing for their good and not just for their bad.
