Andy Reid to evaluate QBs before decision

With the Chiefs quarterback situation among the NFL's worst, recently hired coach Andy Reid will evaluate the signal callers on his roster before making a decision.
In 2012, the Chiefs played both Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn at times, with both sustaining injuries during the year. Neither had much success. Cassel began the year as the starter and finished with 1,796 yards, six touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Quinn threw for 1,141 yards, two touchdowns and eight interceptions. The quarterback position was less than ideal, despite the Chiefs possessing some talent around them on offense.
“I’m going to study the heck out of the guys that are here and have a chance to meet those guys," Reid said in his introductory press conference. "Then I’ll have a chance to evaluate that at that point. We have some guys to be in a solid position. It might not happen this year, you never know. The important thing is you do the right thing. We have been blessed with the No. 1 pick in the draft, and you want to make sure you do the right thing and pick the right guy, not necessarily a quarterback, it has to be the right thing. You don’t want to force anything. People that do that get themselves in trouble.”
From 2000-2009, Reid tutored Donovan McNabb at quarterback and was able to reach five NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl. In 2010, Reid coached Michael Vick to arguably his best season, which saw Vick throw for 3,018 yards and 21 touchdowns, while rushing for 676 yards and nine touchdowns.
With the Chiefs, Reid will look to find a quarterback he can orchestrate his offense around.
"I will dig in and look at that and we will build it," Reid said. "We will see how that works out, we need to spend some time on that – I need to find the next Len Dawson. It might be right here, it might not. I have to dig in, and I need a little time on that.”
