Vanderjagt, the Colts place kicker since the 1998 season, is the all time most accurate field goal kicker in the history of the NFL with an 87% average (194-223). He also holds the record for the most consecutive field goals made with 42 spanning from the 2002 season to the 2004 season. In addition he holds the team mark for most career field goals at 194 and the most points scored with 874. Before joining the Colts he kicked in the CFL off and on for 5 years as a punter and place kicker. He was originally signed with Michigan State in 1988 as a QB. He ended up playing for Allan Hancock (Calif.) Junior College as the teams starting QB and punter before transferring to West Virginia as a Junior as the teams punter. He picked up the place kicking duties for West Virginia as a Senior.
