Smith will join the Iowa Hawkeyes as a walk-on. A late bloomer, Smith has only played two years of organized football. A safety in high school, Smith will start out as a cornerback at Iowa. In his senior season, in nine games, Smith recorded 113 tackles, six forced fumbles, two recovered fumbles, two interceptions, and one sack. He was also named first team All-Conference defensive back.
