2005: Bell played in nine games with one start at right tackle at Pittsburgh (9/11). Also saw action at right guard, left tackle and on special teams.
2004: As a rookie, played in 15 games with 14 starts at left guard before tearing his right anterior cruciate ligament against Denver (12/25). En route to being named to All-Rookie teams of ESPN.com, Football Digest and Pro Football Weekly, helped Chris Brown rush for 1,067 yards and protected Steve McNair and Billy Volek as they combined for 3,829 passing yards.
College Career
Played in 39 games with 38 starts at Miami (Ohio), gaining starting experience at left tackle (13 games), right tackle (two) and right guard (23). Helped protect one of college football’s top rated quarterbacks, Ben Roethlisberger, during junior and senior seasons. As senior, started all 14 games at right guard and earned first-team All-MAC honors en route to conference championship. Helped Redhawks set school and conference records for most points (553) and most total yards (7,016). Also helped team set school record for rushing touchdowns in season (34). As junior, started first two contests at left tackle before shifting to right guard, where he started nine of next 10 games. Started every game as redshirt freshman at left tackle and gained two starts there as sophomore. Graduated with degree in sport organization in December of 2003.
Personal Bio
Single, splits time between Nashville and Cleveland, Ohio. Attended St. Ignatius (Cleveland, Ohio) HS, where he helped the Wildcats to a 10-3 mark and to the state semifinals during his senior season. Garnered all-northeast district accolades, 56 knockdowns and 11 key blocks in his final season, which saw Bell win Most Improved Player. Helped Wildcats win 11 of 13 games as a junior as St. Ignatius would also advance to the state semifinals. Enjoys fishing, playing golf and going to the movies. Lists the Redhawks victory over Bowling Green in the MAC Championships as the most memorable moment throughout his college career. Has plans on starting a career in real estate when his playing days are over.
