Warren Moon, Doug Flutie, and Jeff Garcia are just three names of CFL quarterbacks who have come to the NFL and found quick success. Many NFL experts think that Ricky Ray might be another CFL transplant with potential.
Ray graduated from Sacremento State in 2001 and spent training camp with the San Francisco 49ers. Around that time he had a couple of other NFL tryouts and spent some time with the Arena League's Fresno Frenzy.
When he went to the Canadian Football League, however, Ray found success. He led the Edmonton Eskimos to the Grey Cup while throwing for 4,600 yards, with 35 touchdowns and only 13 interceptions.
Those are the types of numbers which can make the NFL interested. |
